Trichologist, Dr Shahid Shamsher tells us why many people lose hair after shifting to Bangalore.
Reason no 1. Change of water.
It is not a question of good water or bad water, hard water or soft water. Just the fact that you are now washing with water which is different in type and make from the water you were using earlier, can trigger off the hair loss. Wait for 3 months. If you are lucky, it might become ok on its own. If the hair loss still persists, then it would be a matter of concern and will need to be treated accordingly.
Reason no 2. Scalp infections.
A lot of people who have hair loss due to change of water adopt a very simple method to deal with it – they stop washing hair. Now while it may sound good, sadly it does not work out in practice because most such people end up catching scalp infections, which in turn causes even more hair loss. After all if there is pollution in the air, you don’t just stop breathing, do you?
Reason no 3. Stress.
If you are relocating every 2-3 years, and doing it with your entire family, then there is scope of stress affecting you. Settling in a new house with new neighbors, loss of old friends, finding new servants, getting your child admitted in a new school all of that is stress which adds to hair loss.
